Dewan Rakyat passes amendments to Natl Security Act, removing PM's power to declare security zoneThe Dewan Rakyat on Monday passed amendments to the controversial National Security Council Act 2016 to remove the power to declare a security zone from the Prime Minister.
The amendments to Section 18(1) of the Act will give the power to declare a security area to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the eight-member National Security Council chaired by the Prime Minister.
